Are you helping people speed?
No. Every billboard and every page says the same thing: slow down. A driver who sees our sign and slows down is doing exactly what enforcement is meant to produce.
How does a location become documented?
Documented means we can point to published reporting, public records, court records or agency data. Community reported means drivers told us but we haven't verified it. Under review means we're still checking. The label is always shown on the location page.
Is my contribution tax deductible?
No. SpeedTrap.fund is not a registered charity and contributions are not tax deductible or charitable donations.
Where does the money go?
Billboard leases, printing and vinyl, installation, design, hosting and payment processing. Every campaign has a public ledger on the transparency page.
Can I submit a location or a story?
Yes. Nominations and driver stories both go into a moderation queue. Nothing publishes automatically, and stories can be published anonymously if you ask us to.
Are you affiliated with a police department or the government?
No. SpeedTrap.fund is completely independent and has no affiliation with or endorsement from any municipality, police department, sheriff's office, state or federal agency.
What if a location's information is wrong?
Tell us. If a statistic or source is inaccurate or out of date, we'll correct it or remove it. Contact us with the specifics and we'll review it.
